Welcome to GEO Prep Baker, a free public charter school, part of the GEO Academies national network of successful charter schools.
The GEO Academies Model provides innovative K-16 education pathways grounded in a personalized and research-based approach to learning. We prepare students beginning in kindergarten to accelerate into our free college and career immersion high school. Students graduate from GEO Academies with a college degree or career certification, giving them a head start on postsecondary success.
The Louisiana Department of Education recognized the exceptional achievements of our sister institutions, GEO Prep Academy and GEO Prep Mid-City, situated on the northside of Baton Rouge, by honoring them with the prestigious Top Gains Honoree Award. We are thrilled to extend this successful educational model to the Baker community.
GEO Next Generation High School Opened in 2019 with 9th grade, and made Baton Rouge history in 2023 by having 6 students in their inaugural graduating class that graduated with an associate degree. As of May 2025, 40 students have graduated with their associate degree.
ENROLLMENT PROCESS
GEO Prep Baker is now receiving applications for enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year. Applications submitted during open enrollment periods will have an equal opportunity for admission.
Once seat availability is determined, applicants will receive an offer to enroll based on a first-come, first-served. If we receive more applications than available seats, we will run a lottery on April 18, 2026 to determine which students receive an offer of enrollment. All other students who applied will remain on our waitlist until a seat becomes available.
